THE ‘SPORTS SPECIAL ’
FIRST ISSUE TO-MORROW,
BIG AND VARIED BUDGET.
Winter sports are well In train, and to-morrow evening tho first number of the ' Star’s* 1924 ' Sports Special * will bo produced. It will contain as big a budget of sporting news, comment, cartoons, and pictures as any produced In tha last few years.
Special articles, with particular topical interest at the present moment, are furnished by experts on the choice of the All Black selectors, and on the " fair charge " rule in Soccer, and there will be, in much variety, other "specials," covering a wide range of sport —Rugby, Soccer, boxing, hockey, athletics, tennis, and coursing, __ Our London correspondent ' has a very bright English _ and Continental budget.
The encounters of tho day wiil bo given full description, especial attention being bestowed upon tho two “ naval engagements Bluajackets v. University (Rugby) and Bluejackets v, Otago (Soccer). But this will not mean any sort of limitation of the space usually provided for club matches. On the contrary, these, as in previous years, will be fully described.
Arrangements hava been made, too, to secure reports of all spirting events from Auckland to Invercargill, and readers can rely upon an Edition that will rival In every way the popular ‘ Sports Special ’ of last year.
