DUNEDIN. A meeting of shareholders of (bn Dunedin StaiT-P.ov.'kett Building Society was hold in tlio Oddfellows’ "Flail, iSinart street, last night. Mr A. fable occupied l-be chair, ami a large number of shareholders we.ro present. The 140th appropriation of 1500 in (he No. 3 group was disposed of by ballot, cluster No. 197 being drawn, held by one shareholder. The fifty-sixth appropriation of £SOO in the No.'4 group was disposed of by ballot, cluster No. 379 bring drawn, held by one shareholder. The fifteenth appropriation of £SOO in the No. 5 group was similarly disposed of, cluster No. 143 being drawn, held by one shareholder. The Chairman announced that a few shares were still available in No. 5 group, UNITED. A meeting oj) members of the United Starr-Bowkett Building Society was held last evening. Air Hosovear (chairman of directors), "who presided, announced that already nearly 1,300 shares had been applied for in the new No. 8 group. The directors had therefore arranged to hold a ballot for £SOO early in June, lie also stated that another £I,OOO would be disposed of this month. A ballot was then held for the ninety-fourth appropriation in No, 3 group, which resulted in cluster No. 114 being drawn, held by one shareholder. A sale was then held for the ninety-fifth appropriation in No. 3 group, and this realised £l2 per £IOO. A ballot for the thirty-eighth appropriation In No. 5 group was held, and resulted in cluster No. 145 being drawn, which was held by one shareholder. A sale for the thirty-ninth appropriation in No. 5 group realised £36 per £IOO.
