CANADA AND AUSTRALIA NEGOTIATING. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. OTTAWA, January 25. A Montreal message says that the Canadian Pulp Paper Association’s report states that, it has a Government assurance that pending negotiations give a hope of a better trade agreement with Australia. The report declares that the present Government’s tariff changes have, not helped the pulp paper business, but have opened the door to British competition, the effect of which is apparent in a decline in Canada’s newsprint exports to Britain fgrom 1920. to 1923.—A. and N.Z.
