This morning a 'Suir' reoort-cr wailed on the .secretary of the company (Mr H. K. Spence), and, putting this phase of tho matter beforo biin, asked for sumo evidence of progress. Mr Sponoe said that possibly "outward evidence” might mean to some good folks tho erection of tho Exhibition buildings; but very much spade work, so to speak, wad required before that could bo done. “Tbs first, important step has just been taken,” continued Mr Spence, " in the appointment of Mr Edmund Anscombo as solo architect, and it may reasonably bo inferred that tho near future will bring forth elans of tho building. In other ways tho directors have been far from idle. They have held some thirty-four mootings of the board', as well aa attending; many sub-committee meetings and conferences. An Important conference will be hold on Wednesday next, when doleI gates from the Otago Harbor Board, the City I Council, the University Council, and the j Education Board will meet the directors and decide tho exact location ,of the arsis | on Logan Park to be vested in the two lastnamed bodies.
