' QUARANTINE.’ ‘ Quarantine,’ the second offering of the Lawrence Grossimith Company, was given for itihe last time before a large and appieckutive audience in His Majesty's Theatre lost night. The many amusing situations and the doveriy-workod-out plot were thoroughly enjoyed, and the versatility of tho artiste concerned received duo recognition, Mr Grossroitlh as Tony Blunt gav'e a splendid and delightful impersonation of a very difficult role. 1 THE SILVER FOX ’ TO-NIGHT, To-night and 1 to-morrow night Mr Lawrence (Srossmith and the powerful J. C. Williamson supporting company will enter upon the last nights of the Dunedin season, when the occasion will be notable for the first presentation In Dunedin of another brilliant comedy, ‘The Silver Fox.’ Cosmo Tiairiiton, of ‘ Scandal ’ fame, has written ’ The Silver Fox ’ in which Mr Grossmith made such a hit In New York, and receritly scored a densaticnaJ success in Sydney. Tho play mounts from a splendid fiist aidt to a still finer second, and is sustained by ,an altogether delicious third. It is a brilliant and laughable comedy, in whioh words and ideas are so neatly juggled that (ho spectator is wholly captured by the dramatist’s agility, Mr Grossraitlh as Edmund Quiltor is responsible for a brilliant exposition of that artistry that has placed him in nho very front rank of English aiders of to-day. Tlie new play is said to be electric with wit, which is bandied backwards and forwards with brilliancy. From a combination of unusual circumstances Die _ playwright has deftly evolved a succession of happenings tlbat teem with humor, whioh tidies the form of crisp repartee, japes, jibes, innuendoes, ironies, and even tho smartest of puns. is described as a veritable whirlwind of merriment, with occasional serious moments.
