LOST SUBMARINE
WRECK NOT FOUND.
Press Association— By Telegraph—Copyright,
LONDON, January 15.
A diver examined the object which was believed to be L 24, and found it covered with seaweed and barnacles.. Evidently it had lain there a long time. The minesweeper then sent out a wireless message to Portland that it could not possibly be L 24, and all the craft returned to harbor. Tho search will be renewed. It is probable that L 24 has drifted with the tide. Prayers for the victims were offered in St. John’s Church at Eastbourne. Three members of the congregation protested against praying for the dead. The vicar retorted that he was shocked, and invited the objectors to go to bis lodgings to discuss the doctrinal point, but they declined.—Reuter.
