EMPTYING SCOTLAND
The following statement shows the Scottish emigration to the United States and Canada daring July, August, and September : —■
The August figures include 3,700 harvesters, about 2,000 of whom sailed from Liverpool and Southampton. About 1,000 Scottish emigrants sailed from these English ports in July. So that, roughly, 3,000 have to bo deducted from the above total to arrive at the 34,000—0 f the passengers who have sailed direct Ircm the Clyde.
