An Auckland message states that the bodv of the man found in the harbor on Wednesday last has been identified as that of William Rule, aged thirty-seven, a single man, of Ponsonby, who had been missing since September 2. Ho was born in Australia, and came to tho dominion us a boy, but spent his manhood in the Commonwealth, returning hero three years ago. CRUSHED UNDER TRUCK. Thomas M’Gillicuddy, aged forty years, of Greymouth, was fatally injured yesterday near Manaui saw-mill. He was engaged in trucking gravel on the tram line, when he fell, and the wheels passed over him, crushing his right shoulder. Ho died a few hours later in Westland Hospital—Hokitika telegram. SUICIDE AT ROXBURGH. Tho superintendent of police is advised that Frederick Butler, a single man, aged sixty vears. living alone near Roxburgh, shot himself at 4 p.m. yesterday. He left a letter addressed to tho police, indicating that ho was contemplating suicide. GUN TRAGEDY. While Eric Ridglcy, aged twenty, was riding on top of a waggon load of posts, at Rarnarama, near Drury, yesterday afternoon with a gun lying beside him, the weapon was shaken off the waggon. In tho fall the trigger became caught, and one barrel was discharged, the shot entering his' chest. He was brought to Auckland Hospital, where he died during tho night. The father is stationmastor at Pahiatua, and deceased was employed as a bank clerk at Tauranga.—Press Association,
