“The scientists attending tho conference of the British Association for the Advancement of Science arc tho worst speakers in the world,” declared tho ‘Standard.’ “'[’lie majority,” the paper continues, “mumble and gabble, and are badly in need of an elocution course.”
Tho president (Sir Ernest Rutherford) and Sir Oliver Lodge are 'acclaimed brilliant exceptions. The latter illustrates his lectures with blackboard diagrams.
