LONDON, September 27. The Manchester police have decided to prosecute all sweepstake organisers owing to the magnitude of this species of gambling. During the prosecution of one association, which advertised prizes of £50,000, though, only 7,000 tickets were sold, equal to £3,000, tho prosecution pointed out that it was not true that the sweepstakes were conducted by dabs which were legal. It should be known that those engaging in lotteries were liable to be treated as rogues and vagabonds and fined. It might own bo necessary to send them to prison.—A. and N.Z. Gable,
