ME W. H. D. LE SOUEF. Trass Association--By Telegraph—Copyright Australian and N.Z. Press Association. MELBODENE, September 6. (Received September 6, at 11.5 p.m.) The death is announced of Mr W. H. Dudley Le Souef, director of the Melbourne Zoological Gardena. ( [Mr Lo Souef had been director of the Zoological Gardens, Melbourne, since 1901, and manager of Royal Pork, Melbourne. He was born in Victoria of English parentage. Ho travelled extensively in various parts of the world, and represented Australia at the Zoological Congress at Boston, U.S.A., and at the Ornithological Congress at Cambridge, England. Mr Le Souef was honored by a number of foreign societies. He was a voluminous writer, his numerous pubhcations including ‘ Wild Life in Anstra Es,’ ‘ Animals ot Australia ’ (jointly), and ' Birds of Australia ’ (jointly).
