HAYDN’S “CREATION”
It is many years since Dunedin audi> dices have had an opportunity of hearing tins monumental work. As an oratorio u ranks with ' The Elijah/ and 1 The Messiah.’ Such a composition, written for soloists, chorus, and orchestra, can only ho given by a large and efficient body of musical enthusiasts and rehearsing under ;i good musician as conductor. This demonstrates the value to Greater Dunedin of Iho local Choral Sociotv. * The Creation ’ will bo given in llis Majesty’s Theatre on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 7 and 3. Those who will occupy the stago are well up in their work, and will give great pleasure and satisfaction to iheir audiences. The conductor, Dr Galway, has given much thought to the interpretation by the vocalists and instrument .dusts under his directorship. Tonight there is a full rehearsal of chorus and orchestra.
