HIGH SCHOOL DIAMOND JUBILEE

PROGRAMME OP EVENTS

The executive of the Otago Boys’ High School Diamond Jubilee met on Tuesday evening. Dr Fulton (president) occupying the chair. Sir Francis 8011, C.M.G., wrote expressing his willingness to perform the unveiling ceremony, and thanking the society for its letter congratulating him on the honors conferred on him. The Hon. W. Downie Stewart telegraphed' stating that lie would be present at the jubilee celebrations if nothing unforeseen happened to prevent his coming. The Hon. C. E. Statham telegraphed regretting that parliamentary duties would prevent his attendance at the celebrations. The Oilicur Commanding the Otago Military District advised that it would be quite in order for old boys to wear their military decorations. The various sub-commitlecs reported that arrangements for the different functions were nearing completion. The following is the detailed programme of events;—

Friday, August 3.—Sir Francis Bell, G.G.M.G., will unveil the school memorial and present the roll of honor to the school at 2.30 p.m. A special requiem, written for the occasion by Mr D. W. M, Burn, will bo delivered by the anther. In the evening there will be a smoke concert at the Art Gallery Hall. Saturday, August 4.—The Eughy football match, Wailaki v. Otago Boys' High School, will bo played as a curtain-raiser to the Eughy Onion’s fixture at Garisbrook.—ln the evening tile diamond jubilee dinner will bo field at the Art Gallery’ Hall.

Sunday, August s.—At 2 p.m. there will be a procession of past and present boys from the Girls’ School to the Buys’ School, where a church service will bo held.

Monday, August 6. Roll call and historical meeting at the Boys’ High School at 9 a.m.—Garden party at the Boys’ School at 2 p.m.—ln the evening a concert for present boys will bo held in tho Early Settlers’ Hail. Tuesday, August 7.—ln the afternoon football and hockey matches between past and present boys will bo played at tho Caledonian Ground. There will also bo a relay race. Tho School Bugle Baud will bo in attendance.

Tuesday, August 7.—Tho daimond jubilee ball will be held at tho Art Gallcrv Hall.

The executive hopes that all old boys will endeavor to attend the; historical mooting at the school on Monday, August 6. All duces of tho school are particularly requested to make every effort to bo present. The relatives of tho fallen aro requested to bo present at tho unveiling of the memorial arch.
