Wills'll was tha first to score, ami got to 14 before his opponent started. A 10, an 11, and other scores took Stewart to2o, to which he added a 27 break. Ho f competitors scored slowly. Stewart was the first to roach the century, Walsh then being 71, in which was included a 13. Aided by a. 16 and a 17, Walsh cot to 111, Stewart then being 125. After forty minutes’ play the score was 133 all. Walsh improved a little and gradually drew away. He reached the 2CO mark when Stewart was 186. At 246 Walsh made a break of 47, which took his total to 293. He scored this break by good allround play, in which ho showed a deadly accuracy in potting the red. Stewart was then 237. Walsh, maintained his lead, and was tho first to reach the third century, a 21 break taking him from 296 to 317. Stewart reached 300 when Walsh was 44 ahead of him. At 304 Stewart made a good break, composed mainly of long losers, of 41, tho scores then being ; Walsh 346, Stewart 345. Both players played a little erratic in tho next ten minutes, and scoring was slow. Stewart reached 400 when Walsh was 395, and was 417 when tho latter got to 400. Stewart, however, showed improved form in tho next quarter-hour, and was 455 as against Walsh’s 404. Stewart continued to improve in his play, and had reached 514 when Walsh was 444. His scores included a 25 break. Walsh at this stage was not playing so well as at tho start, and was leaving a lot for Stewart, who began to increase his load. Me was scan more than a hundred ahead, his score being 567 when Walsh was 464. A carefully-compiled break of 37, mostly in off the red, took Stewart's score further ahead to 604. Walsh got to 513 as against Stewart 643. Between 500 and 600 Stewart scored a 24 and a 29, and another 29 took him to 703. At 714 Stewart went out with an unfinished 38 break, Walsh having then got to 532. Stewart had improved greatly in his plaw toward tho end of the game. Air Ik Bryant was referee. SECOND BOUND.
