FIRE AT ROTORUA.
At about 3 o’clo'.k this morning a hr,; in a block in Tutanekai street (owned by T. Wolliams) gnttel the shops of W. Bardie (draper), -Mrs Galbraith (confectioner;, and also Jlardie’s bulk store. It further damaged the shuns of U. G. Marsh (photographer) and E. T. Harris (huokseller). llf 'ire had a at:ong hold when discovered It is impossible to tell where and I’.ow it originated. Hardie’c and Galbraith's stocks were destroyed, and Marsh’s and Harris’s greatly damaged. AVolliams was insured in the United Ulfieo for £1,400, Harris in the United for £1.500. Hurdle in the Victoria for £1,200, and Marsh in the Northern for £350. Mrs Galbraith was uninsured. The brigade did exceedingly well to save the block, as u strong W ; nd was blowing.—Press Association telegram.
