Tho correspondent of the United Press at Washington loams officially that tho United States Government will refuse to participate in tho British plan for tho settlement of tho Ruhr and reparations crisis if the Note involves tho question of the Allied debts to the United States. It is generally presumed from Mr Baldwin’s latest speech that such a linking np will bo inevitable. Tim correspondent understands that Mr Hughes (Secretary of State) has already expressed to some of tho diplomats his opposition to such linking of tho_ debt and reparations question, ns the_ United States maintains that those questions aro totally omconhccted.—A. and N.Z. MONEY FOR STRIKERS SEIZED,
PARIS, July 19. (Received July 20, at 10 a.m.) Advices from Dusseldorf state that the French seized twenty-sis: milliards of marks which were intended for the railway strikers.—Reuter.
