PUBLIC SERVICE CONFERENCE
The following remits were passed at tho Public Service Conference:—
“ That the camp allowance granted to surveyors, engineers, forest rangers, and field cadets bo 4s per day.” ” That a field allowance bo granted to engineering cadets, the Public Works Department to place them on tho same footing as field cadets in the Lands and Survey Department.”
“ That tho payment of a lump sum of £ls bo made to officers passing the matriculation examination, such payment to bo made retrospective.” “ That overtime be paid to all prisons and mental hospital officers at the rate of time and a-half for any duty performed in excess of the specified hours of duly.” “ That tho association press for an alteration in Class VII. of tho Railway Department.”
“ That in view of the reduction in salaries and the consequent hardship, tho executive urges that salaries bo paid twice monthly.”
