(Received May 31, at 10.30 a.m.) ' The Financial Committee of the Senate discussed a proposal to cut down the Estimates by one milliard and eighty million fraifcs in order to balance the 1923 getM. Poincare stated' that it was impossible to reduce the expenditure by, more than 400,000,000 francs without seriously hampering the public services. -A. and N.Z. Cable.
