PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION
QDAKTERLY MEETING. Prior to tho annual meeting of tho Otago Patriotic and General Welfare Association this morning, the quarterly meeting of the executive was held. A communication was received from, tho Returned Soldiers’ Association in respect to the Sargood bequest. It was decided to distribute the bequot't far one year in the same way as last year-—between the R.S.A. and tho Y.M.C.A. Tho trustees of tho Lawrence Patriotic Fund forwarded £B4 3s, which it was desired should be handed to tho Otago Association for administration. Tho Chairman (Mr J. J. Clark) said tho matter was in order, it haying been approved by the National War Funds Council, tho Secretary of Internal Affairs, and tho Lawrence trustees. A formal resolution was passed giving tiio Otago Association power to control the amount handed over.
Tho quarterly report of tho honorary treasurer was adopted. It was decided that tho balances lying to the credit of various funds in tho High Commissioner’s office as at May 31, 1923, ho transferred to .tho unconditional fund.
