PRISONERS SENTENCED

[Per United Phess Association.) AUCKLAND, May 30. In the Supremo Court Benjamin Carter, Government draughtsman, who admitted stealing £232 while working in the Government Valuation Department here, was sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment. George William Sullivan, who advertised for a nursegirl, -and got one after another to go to hotels, where lie passed them off as his daughters, and incidentally passed valueless cheques totalling about £IOO, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment.
