The National Dairy Association of New Zealand has received the following cable from its London office,, dated May 18 The butter market is slow. New Zealand salted 140 s to 1425, unsalted 146 s to 150 s: Australian salted, 134 s to 1365; Argentine salted, 120 sto 1325; Danish salted, 154 sto 1565. • ' > Cheese.—The market is slow. ■ New Zealand white and colored, 88s to 90s; Canadian white and colored, 86s to 925. MEAT COMPANY RECAPITALISATION. At a. special mooting of shareholders in the Taranaki Farmers’ Meat Company, Ltd., held at Now Plymouth yesterday afternoon, the chairman of directors (.Air Newton King) submitted a report on the works by .Mr L. N. M’Both, of Christchurch, who advised -that they should bo recapitalised. The proposed capital is £BO,OOO in £5 preference shares. The mooting adjourn cd) for six weeks after carrying the following resolution unanimously:—"That this meeting is of the opinion that irameditae steps should bo taken to obtain applications for preference shares up to a sufficient amount to enable the company to restart the works, and that a committee of twelve persons bo sot up to work with the directors for the purpose of carrying out the above proposal’’
An Auckland wire says: The Kauri Timber Company will pay an interim dividend of 8 per cent, for the lialf-year ended February 23.
