BOARD MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of the Y.M.O.A. Board of Directors was held last night, Captain Snndstrura occupying the chair in the absence of tho president. . Correspondence was received from the National Committee in which the forthcoming visit of Dr of India, was outlined. Tho Religious Work Committee was appointed to deal with tho matter in conjunction with the Students’ Christian Union. Three new members were welcomed to the board in tho persons of Messrs P. Curtis, A. Miller, and E. Anscombe. The election of officers resulted as follows President, Mr J.. B. Waters ; vice-presidents Captain Sundstrum, Messrs H. K. Wilkinson and J. Farquharson, C. A. Wilson, C. J. Darracott, P. Curtis, L. Churchill, J. Brown, G. Hendry, J. D. Clark; Younger Men’s Committee—Messrs C. J. Darracott, J. Williams, T. Homer, J. Purdie, A. Burn, J. Farquharson; Religious Work Executive—Rev. C. Datlaston, Messrs H. H. Driver, J. Williams W. J. Brown, and Canon Nevill; Membership Committee—Messrs H. K. Wilkinson, T. Hemer, J. B. Waters, A. Miller. The reports presented showed the receipts for April to be £512, and the expenditure £438. The house department was reported full, and to iiatfe shown a moderate percentage of profit. It was decided in connection with tho swimming pool that the bath be closed, as usual, for two months. The Religious Work Executive reported the holding _of two Sunday afternoon men’s meetings, the speakers being the Rev. H. Bellhouso and the Rev. W. J. Eddy, and mentioned the three Bible study groups of the younger men’s department and the hoys’ club groups, as held in that division. The residents’ Sunday service and an inter-Bible Class Executive luncheon were also reported. The boys’ report showed a membership of approximately 300, twenty-six members being transferred _ to the younger -men’s department in April. The younger men’s report showed 154 financial members, and_ outlined the various v club and educational activities for tho winter season, The physical department roll showed 444 in classes. Ninety-two lessons were given during the month, with a total attendance of 2.752. Special mention was made of tho senior and junior business men’s classes, which are proving very popular. Displays were given in connection with the work. The Basketball League, with Mr A. P. Roydhouse as president and R. N. Robinson as secretary, has got under way with its annual competition. /The Rugby teams, under Messrs F. Thomas and D. Adams, with Mr L. Gain ns secretary, and the Association football teams, with Mr W. Phelan as secretary and H. Black as coach, are all combining with the gymnasium in providing physical activities for members of the boys’, younger men’s, and senior departments. A special resolution of thanks was passed to those who had assisted in tho recent special effort. Many had given gifts to be used in connection with the ladies’ sale of work and the bag day, and many more had given much time. Tho board expressed its appreciation of these and also of the efforts of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and its president, Mrs O. North. The financial result accruing to date on these special efforts is £4lO,
