OVERSEAS CLUB
The Overseas Club Is arranging a patriotic demonstration for Empire Night (Thursday next). By special request the Right Hon. Sir Joseph Wind, _ Bart has consented to deliver an. Imperial address. A loyal resolution will bo moved, and the Hon. C. E. Statham, M.P., and Mr J. W. Munro, M.P., will give short addresses on the resolution. ■ The mayor (Mr H. L. Taplcv), president of the club, will occupy the chair. The public are invited to attend. A limited number of seats will be reserved for members until 7.65 p.m. on presenting their membership tickets. Musical items will bo contributed by the Band of the Ist Battalion of the Otago Regiment, under the conductorship of Mr T. 11. George, and by the Idlers’ Quartet (Messrs Angell, Scott, Reid, and Cameron), Mrs Wilticd Andrews will sing ‘ There’s a Land ’ and ‘ Land of Hope and Glory,’ and Mr S. G. Angel I will give, by special request, ‘The Death of Nelson.’ Miss Clara Hughes will act as accompanist,
