Advices received state that the Soviet authorities confiscated the trawler Janies Johnson, and ordered the skipper to be detained for a month and to pay a fine of £lO. The detention is retrospective from the date of the seizure.—A. and N.Z. Cable. SEATTLE SCHOONER CAPTURED. VANCOUVER, April 24. The Canadian fisheries patrol Malaspina caught the Seattle schooner the Siloam fishing in prohibited waters west of Vancouver Island. A solid shot stopped the flight. The crew scuttled (lie schooner, and taking a wounded man in the boat, escaped ashore. The Malaspina prevented the prize sinking, and towed her into Quatsiko Sound.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
