FRENCH GOVERNMENT'S PROHIBITION. Tress Association — By Telegraph Copyright LONDON, April 20. The Foreign Office has protested to the French Government, against its recent order prohibiting the export to Great, Britain, of British shell steel scrap, resulting from the breaking up of British shell dumps in France. A strange feature is that the French Government at the same time waived the export prohibition so fains Belgium and Italy a.re concerned. M. Poincare attempts to justify France s action on the grounds of national expediency, bat he is silent on the point of discrimination between the Allies.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
