Burns (Australia) outpointed Tommy White at tho National Sporting Club. Burns used his left more than usual, and was much faster on his feet than White. Ho did exceptionally well in the second rcund with several lefts to the body ami jaw. White improved in tho fourth round. Burns appearing to have little weight in his right. White, in the latter rounds, was more than once at fault for holding. Burns renewed tho attack in the tenth round, and had a shad© the better of the next two. White was beaten with Burns’s lefts. Ho pressed hard during the closing rounds to bring the contest to a finish, but Burns saved himself by his quickness and fitness. MANAWATU MEETING.
