SCHOOLS’ RUGBY. MARISTS’ EXCLUSION. [Peb United Peess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 18. Following on the decision of the Public Schools’ Association to exclude the Marist School from its Rugby competition, the Rugby Union discussed the matter last nignt, when the president of the union stated that the union never had had control of schools’ football, although it had assisted financially. It was decided to continue negotiations for the competition outside the Schools’ Association. District teams are being formed under the a?gis of the existing senior clubs, which will coach players. SOCCER. O.ihA. The weekly meeting of the O.F.A. was held on Monday night, Mr E. J. Anderson in the chair. A letter was received from JI.M.S. Chatham notifying that the ship would arrive in Dunedin, and asking that a match be arranged for Saturday against the ship team. —It was resolved that a combined Dunedin eleven play H.M.S. Chatham at Culling Park on Saturday, at 3 p.m. The Mount Zion Club asked if it were possible for the first match to bo played at Kaitangata.—lt was pointed out that the Mount Zion Club had for the past two years travelled to Dunedin for the first match of the season. —It was resolved to defer the matter until both clubs have been heard.
