The Canadian Seigneur airivnd at Auckland last Friday morning from Halifax with a, large shipment of Canadian merchandise. before'commencing the present voyage the vessel was docked at Newfoundland to have a new_ judder and rudder-post fitted, having lost her original one while en route from Liverpool to Montreal last November. She unloaded cargo at Newfoundland, and left on February 2 for Halifax, where she loaded 8,020 tons measurement (2,856 tons dead-weight) cargo for New Zealand and Australian ports, including about 400 motor cars, fifty of which are for Auckland. Clearing Halifax on March 2, the steamer arrived at the Panama Canal at midday on March 12. An outbreak of fire in the bunkers occurred there, but gangs of negroes working in shifts quickly iocated the seat o r the "fire, and it was extinguished by thh following day, the Canadian Seigneur leaving Colon at midday on March 13. Fine weather prevailed in tho Pacific until Good Friday, when the vessel ran into a strong westerly gale with high seas and frequent rain squalls. Water was shipped continually on deck, and the speed of the steamer- foil away to about fivo or six knots. On April 10 the storm was at its height, and only 123 miles were logged. At 8 p.m. the following day tire weather gradually began to improve, and continued to moderate as the New Zealand coast was approached. Captain B. Potts is in command.
THE CITY OF BOMBAY. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co, ad* vise that the A. and A. Line steamer City of Bombay, from Now York via Auc& land and Napier, is due at Wellington OB Thursday. She is expected to leave Wellington on Tuesday next for Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney to complete discharge. RARANGA’S LOADING DATE. Advice received hy the National Mortgage and Agency Company states that the steamer Raranga will now arrive at Port Chalmers on April 23 from Wanganui roadstead. The vessel will load a consignment of Central Otago apples and also other cargo here for the United Kingdom.THE BERWICKSHIRE. The steamer Berwickshire as expected to leave Wellington to-day for Port Chalmers, cvhere she is due on Thursday to continue Homeward loading. She will continue taking in cargo at Bluff and Lyttelton, and will sail finally from the Canterbury port for London via Capo Horn. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
