GERMAN SOCIALISTS WEAKEN. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 16. The ‘Daily Telegraph’s u Berlin correspondent states significantly that the Socialist official organ ts strongly advocating that Germany should make a new reparations offer. This acceptance by the largest partv in the Reichstag of the British suggestion is symptomatm of the changed feelings here. Other parties hold similar views, though hitherto they would not give them clear public utterance. It is widely hoped that Herr Rosenberg s speech in the Reichstag to-morrow will indicate a definite step in the direction of a settlement. —A. and N.Z. Cable. M. Theunis, Belgian Premier, addressing the foreign Press, declared: “We will remain in tho Ruhr until Germany recognises our rights, and will only depart progressively as she carries out her obligations. The Ruhr occupation must not react against us or damage our industry and commerce more than necessary. M. The French Ministers of War, Finance, and Works have proceeded to Dusseldorf to carry out now measures in connection with the occupation of the Ruhr, decided upon at the recent Franco-Belgian conference. —Reuter.
