Air E. 11. Buckler, of the Customs Department, Dunedin, has been transferred from Dunedin to Auckland, and leaves for the north on Wednesday. His place here is to be (liken by Air A. J. Waters, who comes from Wellington. Our Christchurch correspondent telegraphs Unit the death occurred on Saturday of Archdeacon 0. Hi Cosset, who was archdeacon of Christchurch from 1909 to 1917, Archdeacon Gusset was burn at N’ortharn, North Devon, England, in 1851, and was educated at Clifton College and at St. Andrew's University, Scotland. Ho was ordained deacon in 1877 at Wellington by Bishop Hadfield, and afterwards appointed assistant curate at Masterlon, where lie remained from 1877 to 1880. Then he was appointed to Banks Peninsula. His next appointment was as curate of Rangiora and Woodend from 1831 *to 1883. In 1887 he became vicar of Woodend, Ashley, and Luburn. He was later vicar of Heathcote and vicar of Merivale. He was made Archdeacon of Christchurch in 1909, and resigned in 1917. Deceased was a member of many Church institutions during his ministry, including the Church Property Trustees, from which ne resigned less than a year ago. Among the passengers who arrived at Auckland by the Ruahine last week was Mr H. C. Cameron, who, having recently retired from the Government service, after acting in. London for over twenty years as Produce Commissioner, and during the last live years as officer in charge of immigration, is revisiting the dominion *o look up old fiends and renew associations of former days. He is accompanied by his wife and daughter, ami intends during his visit to thoroughly investigate present-day conditions in New Zealand before finally deciding as to his future arrangements. Professor R. Speight has been appointed, by the Board of Governors of Canterbury College to represent the college, in company with the rector (Dr C. Chilton) at the Pan-Pacific Science Congress, to be held in.
