THEOSOPHY
Miss S. Oppenh-eimer concluded her scries of addresses to the Theosophical Society on Sunday, taking as her subject ‘ Tho Mysteries.’ In ancient times, tho speaker said, a knowledge of the mysteries was a common thing, hut it was not so now. There were many schools of the mysteries mentioned by ancient writers. Tho purpose of the mysteries was to train the sou) to enter “ the' path.” The lesser mysteries had to do with the astral world. In the greater mysteries man was taught something of the mental world and beyond that. But after all the only mystery that existed was God, and each one was able to seek and find God within himself. Tlie Theosophical Society had been put into the world to show the true path of the greater mysteries, the pathway of tho sold. The Theosophical Society showed that the way to gam greater powers was by purification, by concentration, and by meditation. It meant effort on our part. Tho pathway of return to the Father was a pathway of service, of study, selflessness, and'a wide, big sympathy-for others was needed.
