The Duke of Devonshire (Colonial Secretary) saw a delegation at the Colonial, Office, which asked that Lord Balfour's declaration regarding Palestine fbe abrogated and a system of responsible government Inaugurated. The Duke of Devonshire replied that the Government would consider the Question, but ho could not hold out tho hope that there would be any departure from the late Government's policy in Palestine.—A., and N.Z.
