An American visitor to London has reasonably commented in a London newspaper on the fact that in all London he could find no statue of Charles Dickens. It does seem an amazing omission, but what the visitor did not remember was tho clause in, Dickens’s will which ran: “ I conjure my friends on no account to make me the subject of any. monument, memorial, or testimonial whatever."
