POSITION IN UNITED STATES. DEVELOPMENTS AWAITED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, December 22. (Received December 25, at 8.55 a.m.) It appears that American business men, through the American chambers of commerce, have suggested to the State Department the formation of a Reparations Common of Americans. Mr Julius Barnes, president of the chamber, admitted that the situation appears generally to be very confused. Rumors concerning action by the United States nre flying thick and fast, denials are coining just as speedily, but important developments clearly appear to be impending.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
