The Otago Rowing Club has decided to enter crews for the maiden and junior four-oared races at tho Macandrew’s Bay regatta, to bo held on Boxing Day. Queen’s Drive Club will also be represented in most of tho rowing events. Tho committee of the Otago Rowing Club has .given tho matter of the competition for the Howlison Sculling Cup a good deal, of conideration. It will be remembered! that this cup —a most valuabla one—was presented this season by Mm Howlison in memory of her husband, who was at one time an active member of the dub. The Selection Committee has submitted 1 a recommendation _ and drawn up conditions in connection with the competition, and! the matter lias been held over for further consideration at a general committee meeting. A. somewhat important alteration to ope of the dub rules was made at a special meeting of the Star Club (Wellington). In effect, the amendment makes it compulsory for ißO&diers to pass a test in rowing or sculling before Being classified as a senior (club) member. A. Stevenson will represent the Auckland Club in the single soulls contest at tho championship regatta._ The following crews will represent Lino Queen’s Drive Boating Club at the Macandrew’s Bay regatta:—Senior fours —G. I hit or (stroke), T. Sutherland, H. Watson, J. Hotton (bow); junior fours—F, Wilson (stroke), G. Pritchard, S. Ruebatch, W. Leftwich (bow); maiden fours —J, M‘Gregor (stroke), L. Fountain, G. Clarke, J. Campbell (bow); youths’ No. I—-Doc. Clifford (stroke), R Souter, H. Clifford, F. Holden (bow); youths’ No. 2—J. M'Gregor (stroke), L. Fountain, G. Clarke, J. Campbell (bow); youths’ double scullsJ. M'Gregor and L. Fountain. For tho past month the regatta crews of tho Queen’s Drive Club Jiave been training hard, and it ie expected that they will give a good account of themselves at flha forthcoming regattas. The senior crew is rowing with plenty of dash and body form, but stroke is at times inclined to mah his slide a little.
