ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY’S CONCERT
For Hie final concert of the season, to be given in His Majesty’s Theatre tomorrow night, the soloists are Miss Ngaire Bowles and Mr Ernest Drake. (Miss Bowles is a young singer of groat promise, and will !be heard in ‘ My Ships ’ (Barratt) and ‘Romance,’ from ‘Faust.’ Our local tenor, Mr Drake, who is recognised as one of the foremost vocalists in New Zealand, will sing ‘Passing By’ (Purcell), ‘All in. a Lily-white Gown’ (Easthope Martin), and ‘The Sorrows of Death.’ from Mendelssohn’s ‘ Hymn of Praise,’ The orchestral items are Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1, suite ‘ Cobweb Castle’ (Liza Lehmann), overture ‘ Le Nozze d.i Figaro’ (Mozart), selection ‘Don Giovanni’ (Mozart), ‘Tarantella’ (Raff), and, a march 1 Salut a Vienne ’ (Ganne), The box plan closes at noon at The Bristol, but a limited number of 2s ticket® will be available at the theatre door for those who are too late to book seats.
