Air J, G. Alexander, executive engineer of the Public Health Department, Bihar Orissa, India, is in Dunedin in the course of a holiday tuur of New Zealand, A letter received by the latest mail from Professor Pringle states that his son’s health, a breakdown of which made him leave New Zealand hurriedly for London, was still causing concern. A London cable states that wheat cargoes are neglected, being occasionally 6d lower. Parcels are in fair request at 3d down.
Mr J. A. Dunning, B.Sc., Aucklandi University College, and holder of the Gillies Science Scholarship, Auckland Grammar School, has been appointed science and mathematics master at John M'Glaehan College. Air Dunning is recognised as a good cricketer of the first eleven, senior grade, of his college. The parishioners of Omakau and surrounding districts met at Omakau on Alonday evening, and extended a hearty welcome to the Right Rev. Dr Whyte, Catholic Bishop of Dunedin, on the occasion of his first episcopal visit. An address was presented, and a travelling rug presented to the bishop,.
