The weather was very hot, the wicket fast, and the outfield bare -for the match between Griqualand West -and the M.C.C. team. GriquaJ-and West’s first innings realised 198 (N. Tapsoott 57, Rigcl 18, Percy not out 25, L. Tapscott 30). Fender took four wickets -for 56, of which three were got in one over. Gilligan took three for 37 and Ft evens two for 11. Tho Marylebone team has lost five wickets -for 257 (-Russell 26, Sandham 68, Woolley 83, Dare 17, Mead not out 15, Mann 15). —A. and N.Z. Cable. NEW SOUTH WALES v. QUEENSLAND. BRISBANE, December 2. The weather was fine and the wicket good for tho interstate cricket -match between Queensland and New South Wales. Tho latter in the first innings made 140 (Macartney 46, Hendry 50, Asher not out 18). Queensland has lost six wickets -for 126 (Thompson 28, Rowe 52, Oxcnham not out 22). ACL A REX’S TEAM BLOCKED. SYDNEY, December 2. Owing to the shipping trouble extending to the Ulimaroa, the M.C.C. eleven, captained by A. C. MacLaren, who were leaving for Wellington on Saturday, are de- ■ lain-cd in Sydney. LOCAL MATCHES POSTPONED. All Saturday’s cricket matches were postponed on account of the state of the grounds.
