A piano in a locomotive works seems an anachronism ; actually it is used as a detector of hidden Haws. As the components are brought together for assembly a, man .with a hammer goes all over each. If the metal rings true with a note on the piano, then all is well; but if it is a trifle sharp or flat a flaw is indicated, and can ho remedied. Only that locomotive is lit for the road which rings true all over.
