[From Our Christchurch Correspondent.] Tho stewards oi the South Canterbury Jockey Club have decided to refuse the nomination of Kilbrogon in future, owing to ids unrulincss at the bander. No. 4 was the lucky number at Tianaru on Saturday, for in eight races only one horse carrying No. 4 saddle-cloth failed to return a dividend. The number was first past tho post on four occasions, and was second three times. Deucalion for some unknown reason was mado a sound favorite for the South Canterbury Handicap, an honor completely justified by his winning easily. He was allowed to run along behind in the first few furlongs, improved his position round the turn, and running to the front inside the distance came on to win very easily by two lengths. Mantua was always prominent, and registered a very good second place. She was always in a. good position, i but received one check in the race, and showed signs of being galloped on when she returned to the hirdcage. General Advance was not near the front in •the carlv stages, but was finishing on well. Royal Mac failed to display any dash, and never threatened danger. 'Songbird was not well served nit the start, and was not prominent in tho race, finishing sixth.

Stewart was very aggressive and severely punished Ring, who never looked like a winner.
