There was an animated) market, and opening prices were maintained. Frozen Beef.—Argentine hinds, 4|d; chilled Argentine fores 4|d, hinds 6j[d; Uruguay fores 4£d, hinds 6gd j others unchanged. Cotton.—December shipment, 14.36dper lb. Rubber.—Para. 13d per lb; plantation smoked, 12-jd to 12|d per lb. Jute.—November-December shipment, £35 15s per ton. Hemp.—N oveniber-January shipment, £52 per lon. Copra.—October-December shipment, £23 15s per ton. Linseed oil, £3B per ton. Turpentine, 114 s per cwt. Wheat cargoes are steadily bold and are unclanged. Parcels are quiet. The following sales have been made: Waihi, 335, 33s 6d ; Waihi Grand Junetion, 9s 3d, 9s 4d; P. and 0., £316, £325.

Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. have ,a wool market cablegram from their London agents (dated 23rd Inst.) advising' Drat “merino declined 5 per cent.’’ Loans to tho amount of £I,OBO and thirty Shares were applied for at last week’s meeting of the trustees of the Dunedin and Suburban Mutual Money Club. The Pacific Starr-Bowkctt Building Society will dispose of £2,000 on Tuesday, December 19, and invites members in new No. 4 group.
