(11.50 pan.), Bio teas, Holm, for Wanganui via ports. The Comma is to leave Wellington today for Dunedin direct. She is due here oa Wednesday, and is listed to sail th# same day for New Plymouth and Nelson via ports. The steamer Progress left Greymouth. on Friday afternoon for Dunedin direct with 97,000 ft of red pine timber. She i» due hero to-night. Tho Federal liner Middlesex left Port Chalmers at 10 a.ru. on Saturday for Lyttelton to load dairy produce and wool for the United Kingdom, From Lytteltonahe will proceed to New Plymouth, Wellington, Napier, and Auckland, and will be despatched from the latter port about December 11 for London. A cablegram from London states that tho 0. and 11. liner Port Chalmers, on rout© from London to Melbourne and Sydney, passed Las Palmas on November 22. The Athenio is to leave Southampton, on January 4, and is due in New Zealand about February 11. Mr R. A. Fyfo is at present chief engineer of the Ulimaroa, relieving Mr H. J. Crockford, who has gone ashore at Sydney on holiday leave. The Canadian Challenger will not now visit New Zealand. She is expected at Brisbane to-day from Montreal, and will discharge her cargo at Australian ports. The New Zealand portion of her cargo will bo transhipped. A radio message received at Auckland last Wednesday morning by the Union Company from the captain of the Navua, which left Auckland on Monday evening for Suva, stated that the ship is steaming we!!. She has a volunteer crew. The Kurow arrived here yesterday afternoon from Auckland via Wellington and Lyttelton, and was berthed at the Rattray street wharf to discharge a large quantity of general freight.'. She is to sail to-night for Bluff and Westport. Tho Hohndale sailed late on Saturday night for Oamara, Timii.ru, _ Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui with a large shipment of general cargo. The Kotare steamed down to Port Chalmers this morning, and was placed In dry dock to undergo overhaul. She will resume running early next month between Dunedin, Bluff, Invercargill, and Eiverton. The Calm is duo at Dunedin to-morrow from Bluff, and is to sail to-morrow night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Tho Kaimanawa, after a lengthy lay-up at Port Chalmers, sailed oa Saturday evening for Westport. The Union Company’s freighter Wa?hemo, from Pacific Coast ports, is expected to leave Lyttelton on Wednesday for Dunedin and Sydney to complete discharge. A wireless message received by tho Now Zealand Shipping Company from tho captain of the Ruahine, which left Wellington on November 22 for Southampton and London, states all on board are well. MAUNGANUI EXPORTED. The Union Company lias received advice that tho R.M.S. Maunganui arrived at Rarotonga at 6 a.m. on Monday last from Sydney and Wellington, and sailed again at noon. on. tho same day for Papeete, and San Francisco. MAIMOA LEAVES BALBOA. Tho Shaw, SaviU, and Albion Company has received cable nows that the Maurnoa, cn. route ■ from Loudon, left Balboa, on November 20 for Auckland, where she is duo on December 10. Tho vessel is expected at Port Chalmers about December 22, _______ FAST STEAMING. The Port Adelaide, of tho G. and D. Lino, arrived at Dunldrk at daylight on the Bth inst., after a smart passage of thirty-fivo days from Adelaide. This steamer carried a largo consignment of wool ex tho first Adelaide sales. On her outward voyage from New York to Brisbane tbo vessel accomplished the journey in tho fast steaming lime of twenty-nine days five hours. (Continued on page 6.)
