Fine weather, real enthusiasm, and good matches marked tho opening cay of the Port Chalmers Club on Saturday. The president was satisfied with the prospects of a successful season, and intimated that lovers of tho good old game would be welcome at the Saturday afternoon matches throughout the season. The opening day matches resulted in some very intern rang play. Mr A. Love, the veteran, landed the first prize, Mr J. Crammond coming second, and Mr W. Gilliland third.' A good muster of intending members of the Port Chalmers Cricket Club turned up on Saturday afternoon, when a good practice was held. The following were elected Club-captain, T. Armstrong; coach, H. Jenkins; secretary and treasurer, Frank R, Fordham.
