(Received October 9, at 8.50 a.m.) Sir Alraoric Fitzroy pleaded not guilty at the Marlborough Street Court to wilfully. interfering with women in Hyde Park. . For the prosecution it was alleged that on the night of September 29 a policeman saw Sir Almerfc Fitzroy accost several women. They all appeared to resent his advances. Sir Almeric Fitzroy seated himself beside women, and addressed them. When a policeman threatened to arrest him for annoying the women, ho said: “I repudiate it.” One woman told the police in Sir Almeric Fitzroy’s hearing that he had asked: her to walk across the park with him. Sir Almeric Fitzroy interjected: ‘‘Of course. I spoke to the lady. It is not safe for girls to walk across the park alone.” Sir Almeric Fitzroy was arrested, and ho became most violent. Ho struck the constable in the face with a stick, and said: “Itis an absolute lie.” The hearing was adjourned, Sir Almeric Fitzroy being admitted to bail (£500). —A. and N.Z. Cable. He was educated at Oxford University, where ho distinguished himself, and entered the Educational Department of the Privy Council Office in 1876. (Received October 9, at 9.15 a.m.) Owing to Iris long association with the Privy Council, the charge against Sir Alraerio Fitzroy has caused a great sensation.
