WELLINGTON) October 6, This is part of the propaganda going on among the employees in that department, and I will tell honorable members and' the House that so long as I am head of it the policy is going to be dictated by myself and the Government)' and not by the employees. This statement was made by the Minister in Charge of the Government Printing Office (Hon. G. J, Anderson) when Mr Wilford voiced a_ complaint of its employees that,printing was being sent out of the office to private firms. The loader of the Opposition stated that it had been represented to him that there had been a change in the policy of the department, and as a result of work being distributed among private firms work for the large staff in the Government Office had been tremendously curtailed. Mr’ Anderson denied that there had been any change in the policy of the department. What was at the bottom of i the complaint, he said, was the fact that the electoral rolls were being printed outside. An immense amount of work- was entailed in this printing, as was illustrated in the many alterations that were being made, and this could not possibly be done in Wellington. As to the general complaint of work going out olfi the office, it was not part of the policy to send it
