LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. [Special to the ' Star.’] WANGANUI, September 25. The Ladies’ Golf Championship was continued in lovely weather, sunny, calm, and cool. The 'course was in perfect order. Mrs Kayo met Mrs Guy Williams, and a hard struggle was fought. Mrs Kaye was 3 up at the eleventh hole. _ She drives a very long ball, but is a little erratic round' about the greens. Mrs Williams won the twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth holes, making the game all square. Mrs Williams finished 2 up and l to play. Miss Brown (Napier) beat Miss Payton, last year’s runner-up, 5 and 4. Miss Brown was playing beautiful golf, and deserved her win.

1 Mrs M’Carthy had a hard fight with I Miss S. Watson. Mrs M‘Car thy was 1 up at the second hole, but lost the two | short holes, leaving Miss Watson 1 up at 1 the sixth.
