SUDDEN COLLAPSE. Mrs Mary Foster, who resided with her husband and family at No. 11 Hereford street, Roslyn, collapsed suddenly yesterday morning, and died immediately. She was on her way to church, and had got ns far ns Charlotte street, when she collapsed. Dr Martin was called, but on arrival could only pronounce life extinct. As the deceased lady had not been attended by a doctor for some time, a certificate of death could not bn given, and an inquest was held at the house this afternoon. MAORI MANGLED BY TRAIN. A Haw-era Association message states that on Saturday evening a Native named Bipiri Manaia, whose hearing is defective, was run over by the New PlymouthHawera train at the Tarn turn road; level crossing. The driver blew his whistle when approaching the road, but Manaia walked right in front, and was terribly mangled. Avis Melted, two years old, the daughter of B. Mexted, a farmer at Tawa Flat, was drowned iu a stream on her father’s farm, says a Wellington telegram.
