AUSSIES IN FINE FORM. Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. NEW YO'EK, August 25. (Received August 26, at 1.10 p.m.) While Tildcu and Richards (America) were opposing W. F. Johnson and Wm. Johnston (America), in the next court Patterson and Wood (Australia), playing N. W. Niles (America) and Borotra (France) for the right to enter the final of the National Doubles Cham pen ship, beat their opponents 6-1, 7-5, 6-0. The Australians played finished tennis, taking game after game with ease. M. Johnston's performances this year arc very ircfressive. In California he beat Tilden twice. On May 7 lie beat him 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, 5-7, 6-5, and on May 14 ho treat him again 7-5, 7-9, 6-1, 6-0. Then lie beat Williams recently at Sebright, 5-0, 6-2, 6-3, which was a striking performance even for the little wonder, and allowing for Williams’s well-known variability in form.
