There was a full attend an co at the monthly meeting of the Taieri County Council yesterday, Cr Doherty presiding. The Prime Minister notified that it was not proposed to bring down legislation this session concerning South. Otago Hospital separation. It was decided to expend £IOO in maintenance metal in Outram Riding. Out of this attention would be given to a request from A. Heneuy, Outram, The Ashley County Council asked support for a proposal that provision bo included in the new Bill (to bo brought down this session) that hospital levies be calculated on a one-third population and two-thirds capital value basis.—The. council decided to support this if its own proposal that the, levy Hie on the Consolidated Fund was not agreed to. In response to a request from the returning officer of the Technical School Managers’ election, to appoint a member to _ the committee, Cr Blackie was appointed. Particulars of allocation to Main South road were supplied by the engineer of the Green Island Borough Council as follow Taieri £64, Dunedin £lB, Green Island £l4B.—Noted. In response to a. request from the. secretary of the Otokia Domnin Board it was decided to supply (when the clerk had time) a list of householders in Brighton . Tlio Clerk reported the, result of the conference at Rilverside re clearing gravel from Silvcrstrea.nl, and a small committee was set up to go into the matter of disposal of the gravel. It was resolved to approve of the. closing of Howorth’s road, and flic clerk was instructed to take the necessary steps. Cr JMatbeson mentioned the’ matter of electric supply for Middlemarch.—lt was decided to call a meeting of the ratepayers and to place the position of electric supply from the Dunedin City Corporation before it.
