ODDFELLOWS

A pleasant evening was enjoyed by the large gathering of juveniles, reinforced by members of adult lodges, who assembled at the lodge room, Kensington, on Saturday, tho 19th inst, for ■the.purpose of celebrating the first anriTTersary of Kensington Juvenile Lodge. President Bro. Chas. Bolton, -who occupied tho chair, welcomed all present, and also_ received representatives from kindred societies, introduced by D.D.G.M. Bro. Skinner. A good musical and elocutionary programme was rendered by tho juvenile members, and Bro. Benfell (A.0.F.) amused all with his humorous items. The Jazz band, under Bro. Bonham, also proved a delightful acquisition. Interspersed 'were addressee bv. Bro. Benfell (president Juvenile Council. - A.0.F.),- Provincial G.M. Bro. Will (M.U.1.0.0.F.). G.T. Bro L Deans Ritchie, D.D.G.M. Bro. J. Skinner, and P.G.M. Bro. A. 11. Valentine. Tho item most pleasing to the company was the presentation of a birthday cake by N.G. Bro. Wyber, on behalf of Leith Lodge, which also supplied tho supper partaken of prior to dispersing. Unity Lodge held its fortnightly meeting oil’Monday, the 14th inst., N;G. Bro. ('. Payne presiding over, a fair attendance. The usual lodge business was attende-d to, and an invitation, accepted from Miriam Rebecca Lodge to attend a social evening. Four now members wore added to tho roil by initiation, and two were accepted by transfer. On next meeting night, the half-yearly card tournament with the Ca.vereham Lodge,. M.U., will take place.
